Chesapeake, Va. - A 23-year-old man was arrested in Chesapeake early Wednesday after allegedly robbing a woman, leading police officers on a pursuit in a stolen vehicle and then attempting to run away.
Chesapeake Police say around 12:50 a.m. at the 7-Eleven at Georgetown Boulevard and Military Highway, 23-year-old Shane Tew robbed a woman at gunpoint and fled with her purse.
A short time later, police found the silver Nissan he was driving in another 7-Eleven parking lot at George Washington Highway and Gilmerton Road.
When officers approached Tew, he again fled and led officers on a chase into Portsmouth and back into Chesapeake. The pursuit eventually ended about five miles away on Holly Cove Drive where Tew attempted to run away from officers.
He was quickly apprehended and was arrested and charged with robbery, grand larceny and eluding.
Tew also had an outstanding warrant for burglary.
