Isle of Wight County, Va. - Authorities are investigating a string of larcenies along Route 17 in Carrollton.

The incidents happened early Monday morning.

Twelve reports of larcenies from vehicles or tampering with vehicles in the Bridgewater or Greystone subdivisions of Carrollton were filed.

A black 2004 Nissan Armada SUV with a handicap license plate number J18996 was also reported stolen from the 13000 block of Ashley Park Court.  Another vehicle at the same residence was tampered with and had items taken.

Deputies went to a residence where several items were stolen from the homeowner's vehicle. While the officers were at the residence, 911 operators received more reports similar to the homeowner's story.

Officials canvassed the neighborhoods and saw other vehicles that were entered and had items taken.  The Sheriff's Office believes that most of the cars were unlocked at the time of the incidents.

The Isle of Wight's Sheriff's Office wants to reminds residents to keep their cars locked and take valuable items out of your car at night or when left unattended.
