Hampton, Va. - Dr. Ahmed Noor, from the Mosque and Islamic Center of Hampton Roads, has strong words for anyone using Islam to justify terrorism. "The people that did this are in gross and open violation of all the principles of our religion."
The FBI is now investigating the attack in San Bernardino as an act of terror. One of the two believed to be behind it gave allegiance to ISIS as the attack was happening, according to CNN.
"ISIS does not represent our faith," said Dr. Noor. "Sanctity of life: they don't respect."
Dr. Noor believes the rise of ISIS and other extremist groups is due to the spread of misinformation about the religion. He wants Muslims to be skeptical and says he uses the latest forms of technology to connect with young people. He keeps a watchful eye on the mosque.
"We guard against anyone in the community doing anything that comes close to what happened in California," he said.
