Newport News, Va. – Timothy Morgan, a former Newport News school district maintenance worker, was sentenced to over six years in prison and five years of supervised release for receipt of child pornography
Morgan pleaded guilty on August 17.
According to court documents, investigators discovered that Morgan was trading child pornography over peer-to-peer networks.
In August 2014, law enforcement found 13 complete files of suspected child porn downloaded from an IP address registered to Morgan.
Investigators found 118 images and 55 videos of child pornography after searching Morgan’s computer and external hard drive. The files dated back to 2004. Some of the images depicted young girls engaging in sexual acts with an adult male.
Morgan admitted that he was the only one to access the computer and downloaded the child porn using a peer-to-peer file sharing program found on the computer.
