Airlines increase number of flights to accommodate holiday travelers

Posted

Norfolk, Va. - Pam Miller is traveling to Providence, Rhode Island for the holidays but says she was given a gift at the Norfolk International Airport Tuesday.

“We thought that it would be much more crowded but it's not bad,” says Pam Miller.

An increase in flights out of Norfolk International has made her travel plans a little easier, but that hasn't been the case for everyone.

There have been some cancellations and delays to flights coming and going out of the airport.

But airport administration says this is to be expected this time of year and they are prepared for whatever comes their way.

“Each day has been busier and busier so we expect. Big crunch tomorrow but with some decent weather and everybody working hard, I think we will get all our flights out,” says Robert Bowen, Deputy Executive Director.
