Hampton police arrest robbery suspect

Hampton, Va. – Hampton police have arrested a man in connection with a December 22nd robbery.

Police received a call about a robbery in the 1st block of West Sherwood Avenue around 11 p.m.

According to police, 37-year-old Hampton man saw Brandon J. Jenkins was looking into a parked vehicle. When the man asked Jenkins what he was doing, Jenkins implied that he had a gun and demanded the victim’s property.

The victim gave Jenkins his wallet with an undisclosed amount of cash. Police say Jenkins forced the man to take off his clothes and assaulted him.

The victim had minor injuries but did not need medical treatment.

Jenkins left the area and police caught him shortly after the incident.

Jenkins was charged with one count of robbery and one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.  He is currently in Hampton City Jail.
