Hampton Roads, Va. – Record high temperatures were shattered Thursday across Hampton Roads and Northeastern NC, making way for one of the most unseasonably warm Decembers in history.
In Norfolk, a record high temperature of 82 degrees was set. This breaks the old record of 75 set in 1891.
In Elizabeth City, NC, a record high temperature of 77 degrees was set. This breaks the old record of 75 in 1990.
For Wallops Island, a record high of 71 degrees was set. The old record was 70 in 1990.
And at Cape Hatteras, a record high was also set. Thursday, high temperatures reached 75 degrees. This shatters the old record of 72 set in 1990.
