Hampton Roads, Va. – More record high temperatures were shattered Sunday afternoon in a few areas in Hampton Roads and Northeastern NC.

In Norfolk, high temperatures reached 76 degrees. This breaks the old record of 72 degrees set in 1971.

At Wallops Island, a record high of 76 degrees was reached.  This breaks the old record of 66 degrees set back in 1973.

In Elizabeth City, NC, high temperatures reached 74 degrees. This shatters the old record of 71 set in 1971.

And at Cape Hatteras, a record high of 74 degrees was reached Sunday. The old record was 71 degrees set in 1982.

This warmth comes just days after record highs were shattered on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
