Virginia Beach firefighters rescue dog from burning home

Virginia Beach, Va. – Virginia Beach firefighters rescued and treated a dog for smoke inhalation after a house caught fire in the 1100 block of Rittman Road.

The fire happened on Monday at around 1:15 p.m. in the Acredale section of Virginia Beach.

When crews arrived, they saw heavy smoke coming from the home. The fire started in the crawl-space of the house.

The dog was the only one home at the time and was treated on scene.

The cause of the fire is still undetermined.
