Sorry, folks. Facebook co-founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg will not be giving away any money or Facebook stock to anyone.

According to the hoax, Zuckerberg plans to give away $45 billion in Facebook stock, with 10 percent of that going to Facebook users who copy and paste the post.

The message has been posted in different variations by hundreds of users. Some of them even claim it was discussed on Good Morning America.

What you may not have heard is that he plans to give 10% of it away to people like YOU and ME! All you have to do is copy and paste this message into a post IMMEDIATELY. At midnight PST, Facebook will search through the day’s post and award 1000 people with $4.5 million Each as a way of saying thank you for making Facebook such a powerful vehicle for connection.”

Facebook has posted a message saying that the post is just a hoax.

Good Morning America has also said they’ve never run anything about this on their show.

According to Forbes, the hoax likely started after Zuckerberg and his wife, Dr. Priscilla Chan, announced they would be giving away 99 percent of their Facebook shares to charitable causes – an amount that equals roughly $45 billion.
