***A Flood Warning remains in effect for the Nottoway River in Southampton County. The river is at minor flooding levels now and crested at 17.9’ this morning. Water levels will gradually fall over the next few days.

Rain & record setting warmth… Highs today will climb into the upper 70s, setting new daily high temperature records. Expect scattered showers today with a stray chance for storms to mix in. We will see mostly cloudy skies but with some sun sneaking in at times. It will also be windy today with SW winds at 10 to 20 mph. Clouds and rain chances will continue for Wednesday and Thursday as a string of fronts linger over the Southeast. Rain will clear out by Friday. Temperatures will drop into the 60s for midweek and 50s by Friday. As we begin 2016 highs will return to near normal levels in the low 50s and upper 40s.

Tonight: Partly Cloudy, Isolated Showers(20%). Lows near 60. Winds: SW 5-15

Tomorrow: Mostly Cloudy, Rain(80%). Highs in the mid 60s. Winds: NE/SE 5-10
