Thursday’s VIPIR Forecast: More rain but cooling temps

Falling temperatures… We will start today with temperatures in the low to mid 60s but we will cool into the mid 50s by this afternoon. Expect mostly cloudy skies with more rain today. Rain will not be as widespread as yesterday with much lower rainfall totals expected. Most of today’s rain will be scattered showers and primarily in NC. If you are heading out to celebrate New Year’s tonight, expect mostly cloudy skies, temperatures falling into the 40s and a small chance for an isolated shower. Highs will return to the low 50s for Friday with mostly cloudy skies and a slim chance for a shower. Skies will clear for the weekend with highs in the upper 40s to low 50s. Sunshine and seasonal temperatures continue for early next week.

***A Flood Warning remains in effect for the Nottoway River in Southampton County. The river is at minor flooding levels now. Water levels will likely fall below flood stage by Friday morning.
