Norfolk, Va. - Starting Thursday until Early March, utility work will reduce lanes at the intersection of Saint Paul's Boulevard and Brambleton Avenue.
Hampton Roads Sanitation District will be replacing sewer pipelines.
"This is critical and necessary utility work," wrote Lori Crouch, the city's public relations manager, in email to NewsChannel 3. "The city has done everything it can to mitigate traffic impacts." The work will mostly be done 7:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday.
Off-duty police officers will help direct traffic. The timing of lights has also been changed to help ease traffic. The enforcement of red lights cameras has been suspended during the construction, according to Crouch.
