Community heroes to be honored at Greater24’s People’s List Awards

Norfolk, Va. – Unsung heroes will be honored next weekend at a special awards ceremony. Greater24, the first all positive communications network will be celebrating those individuals who work every day to build positive communities at this year’s People’s List Awards.

The event will be held at the DoubleTree by the Hilton Norfolk Airport on Saturday, January 23rd, 2016. Awards and acknowledgements will be given in the areas of television, social advocacy, leadership, stewardship, community development, and humanitarianism.

Among those who will be honored are Ken Lees, the founder and creator of the PingPongforCHARITY™ Celebrity SLAMFest Events & Recreation Tournament. Lees has generated over $223,000 in proceeds for charity.

Joseph McGourn, founder of My Children’s House of Hope that is a place for the at-risk and abandoned children in various places in Payatas, Quezon City, Philippines. This organization provides children with the means to support themselves from poverty into adulthood.
