Norfolk, Va. – The U.S. Navy’s guided missile destroyer USS Barry left Naval Station Norfolk on Tuesday to join the Forward Deployed Naval Forces in Japan.

The Navy announced the ship’s homeport change in October of 2014 as part of a hull swap with the USS Lassen. The Lassen will relocate its homeport to Mayport, Florida and the Barry will take over in Yokosuka.
