powerballVirginia Beach, Va. - Teofilo Mesina didn't win the $1.5 billion Powerball jackpot, but he certainly didn't mind winning $1 million.

Mesina bought the winning ticket and chose his own personal numbers. His ticket was one of 81 nationwide to win the $1,000,000--the game's second highest prize.

He purchased the ticket at a 7-Eleven on Lynnhaven Highway.

Mesina didn't watch the numbers being drawn live, but when he checked his numbers later the night, he was in disbelief.

"I finally called my son when I realized the numbers matched," he said. "The next day, I talked to a financial advisor so I can decide how to handle my winnings. I wanted to win the whole thing, but I'm lucky because I won a million!"
