Chesapeake, Va. --- With snow in the forecast, road crews are getting ready all over Hampton Roads to make sure they can handle the winter weather, especially crews working on the Jordan Bridge.
As the highest bridge in the region, crews take extra precaution in order to make the roadway safe, including monitoring the weather forecasts and closely watching the bridge's condition.
Ice and snow contractors are on standby, along with an engineer. "As a toll bridge, our mission is to have a reliable route for the public. Our folks are here night or day, whatever it takes to get people safely home to their families," said Kevin Crum, the general manager of the bridge.
