Chesapeake, VA.- Chesapeake and Norfolk police are looking for the person who led police on a chase and crashed into the side of a townhouse Tuesday morning.

Authorities say the chase started in Chesapeake when an officer tried to pull the driver of a black 2002 Infinity over for equipment failure around 2:30 a.m.

The driver refused to stop. Police say the officer pursued the driver onto Interstate 264 and into the city of Norfolk.

The driver ended up hitting the side of a townhouse on Stoney Point North and John Hancock lane, and then got out and ran.

A woman who lives in the home where the car was crashed says the impact shook her and all of her neighbors out of bed.

"It was a loud boom. It shook my whole house and my neighbors house too. It sounded like an earthquake," said Linda Moore.

Chesapeake police say they are working a lead in the case but have not been able to find the man yet.
