Virginia Beach, Va. – A Virginia Beach jail inmate has been charged with three felonies and one misdemeanor after smuggling drugs into a Correctional Center.

Zachary Creekmore, 22, was booked into the jail on Wednesday after a court hearing that resulted in his bond being revoked for several charges, including burglary and grand larceny.

Officials say Creekmore was thoroughly searched after being booked and no contraband was found on his person at the time.

Deputies learned that drugs were brought into the facility around 5:30 p.m. They found a lighter and bag containing marijuana, cocaine and ecstasy inside one of the jail cells.

Deputies think Creekmore swallowed the drugs and retrieved them once he was booked into the facility.

Creekmore was charged with possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance, possession with intent to distribute marijuana and being a prisoner in possession of a chemical compound.

He was arraigned on the charges Thursday and is scheduled to be in court for a preliminary hearing on March 11.
