Stumpy Point, NC – A suspected intruder tried to make a getaway through a window of a home he was burglarizing, but deputies stopped him in his tracks.
The Dare County Sheriff’s office says they were called about a breaking and entering incident at 250 Bayview Drive in Stumpy Point.
When deputies arrived, the residents told them that the intruder was still inside.
They tried to get him to come out, but when they searched the house, they came to a room where a door was shut.
When the door opened, they saw someone going out of the window.
A chase started and the suspect was apprehended.
They arrested 32-year-old Daniel Joseph Weaver who has been charged with burglary, felony larceny, and resisting a public officer.
He is being held in lieu of $23,000 secured bond.
