The Denver Broncos’ Peyton Manning is 39-years-old and Panthers’ Cam Newtown is 26-years-old. That’s a 13-year difference.
“Well fortunately for me I don’t have to face Peyton Manning,” Newtown said. “But everyone knows I respect not only Peyton Manning, but every single person thats shares the Manning last name.”
Age isn’t the only difference between these two quarterbacks, even the way they carry themselves and their personalities are contrasting.
Despite the differences, both Manning and Newtown maintain a mutual respect for each other and only had positive things to say before taking the field on Sunday.
“He had an outstanding career in college when the Panthers drafted him number one,” said Manning. “He has earned that number one draft choice early in his career by being an outstanding player.”
Similarly, both Manning and Newton were the overall No.1 draft picks in the NFL, both coming from SEC schools.
“The SEC prepares you better than any other conference I got it out there I’m on the record,” Manning said.
So who will take home the big 5-0 Super Bowl victory? The fans here in San Francisco seem to be going with Newtown on this one, including Redskins’ Jordan Reed.
“Cam is seemingly unstoppable,” he said.
