Hampton, Va.- Fire and Rescue crews jumped into Hampton Creek to pull a suspect out of the water.
According to police, the suspect fled the scene of a car crash in the 100 block of East Mercury Boulevard Saturday morning.
Police say the driver of a blue Nissan was speeding and lost control. The car ran off the road and hit a parked car.
When police arrived, the driver had already left the scene.
Police found him near a residence, but the suspect ran towards Hampton Creek and jumped into the water.
Hampton Division of Fire and Rescue responded by boat and personnel jumped in to pull the suspect aboard.
The suspect was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
