Chesapeake house fire displaces family of three

Chesapeake, Va. – Three people were displaced by an early morning fire in the Deep Creek area of Chesapeake on Thursday.

Chesapeake Fire Department crews were called to the home in the 700 block of Canal Drive at 4:37 a.m.

When firefighters arrived, they found the back porch of the one-story home fully engulfed in flames.


Firefighters were able to get the fire under control at 4:57 a.m.

The cause is currently under investigation.

Neighbors discovered the fire and were able to get all of the residents evacuated safely. No one was injured.

The family has made area lodging arrangements.
