Norfolk Va,. — Harbor Park may be changing its name, if the City of Norfolk approves.
The city is selling the 22-year-old stadium’s name rights to any businesses that want to place a bid for it.
Norfolk is selling the name rights to the stadium to generate some revenue, and it could also help out with improvements to the stadium.
Proposals for the name change are due March 9th and are only for people who are helping to find title sponsors for the stadium.
The name change will not affect the Tides in any way, but the potentially new sponsors can work with them for cross promotion purposes.
The city has been proposing selling the stadium’s name rights since it opened in 1993.
