Chesapeake, Va. – A Chesapeake baby with a rare bone disease has passed away.
Colton Gwaltney died Saturday, just a few days before his first birthday.
Chesapeake baby battles rare condition
He had infantile osteopetrosis, a condition that made his bones break easily. The disease is so rare it only affects twenty babies a year in the U.S.
NewsChannel 3 first shared his story with you last year as he began treatment in Minnesota where they specialize in his condition.
A gofundme page had been set up to help pay for his treatment. All money raised will now go towards funeral expenses.
