Snow to mix to rain… A snowy start this morning with temperatures in the 20s and 30s. As temperatures warm today we will switch from snow to a sleet/freezing rain mix to rain. The transition will start on the Outer Banks this morning and transition to the north and west by midday. Most of us will see 1” to 2” of snow accumulation, with higher numbers north and west.
We could also see some minor ice accumulation for our inland and northern areas, closer to I-95. Highs will reach the mid 40s this afternoon and will continue to climb overnight. Expect scattered rain showers tonight as we warm into the 50s.
Highs will reach near 60 tomorrow with rain shower that could be heavy at times. An isolated thunderstorm is also possible. Rain will taper off and skies will start to clear late Tuesday afternoon. Winds will start to pick up tonight and into Tuesday. We will see more sunshine and more seasonable temperatures for the second half of the week.
