Posted

Elizabeth City, NC. – On February 20, just after 1:30 a.m., Elizabeth City Police responded to a traffic crash on Halstead Boulevard.

When they arrived they found that a 1999 Ford Expedition crashed into a brick wall surrounding the Elizabeth City State University entrance.

Officials say the vehicle was traveling south on Halstead Boulevard before striking a curb and going air born into the campus wall.

The driver of the truck was Jason Guglielmini, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

The cause of the accident is unknown, but speed is said to be a major factor in the crash.
