Artist and activist Yoko Ono has returned home after being hospitalized with the flu, her son, Sean Ono Lennon, tweeted Saturday.

Yoko Ono had been hospitalized in New York on Friday after experiencing “extreme flu-like” symptoms, her publicist, Elliot Mintz, said.

Ono, 83, was married to Beatle John Lennon until his death in 1980.

“Her doctor thought it would be a good idea for her to get checked,” Mintz said. He denied media reports that she suffered a stroke.

Ono Lennon tweeted Saturday about his mother: “Thanks again for everyone’s concern. She’s home and running about as usual. Just the flu in the end.”

Ono has won two Grammys — one as an artist and producer, and the other as a video producer.

This month, she is exhibiting “Land of Hope,” which comprises 19 pieces of her artwork in Mexico City’s Memory and Tolerance Museum. The interactive exhibit promotes peace.
