INDIANAPOLIS — Joey Feek has said her last goodbyes and is in a “deep sleep,” her husband, Rory, wrote in a blog post shared on Monday.

Rory Feek, who with his wife makes up the country duo Joey + Rory, has been documenting his wife’s battle with cancer on his blog, This Life I Live.

Fans have been following their journey since Joey was diagnosed with cervical cancer a few months after she gave birth to their daughter, Indiana, in 2014.

On Monday, Rory wrote that Joey’s body is shutting down quickly.

“The hospice nurse came again this morning and said Joey will most-likely only be with us for a few more days… at the most.”

Before falling into the “deep sleep,” she told her daughter, Indiana, that she loved her and “mama will be watching over you.” Rory said Joey gave their daughter “one last kiss.”

“One of the last things Joey said before she drifted into the deep sleep she’s been in for a few days now is, “I have no regrets… I can honestly say, that I have done everything I wanted to do and lived the life I always wanted to live.”

Joey had previously said she had two goals: to live to see the Grammy’s and her daughter’s second birthday. While Joey was able to be there for her daughter’s big day, they didn’t win the Grammy. The couple said they were honored to be nominated.

Rory ended his blog post with a note to those who have followed his wife’s journey.

“And thank you to all who have followed my wife’s beautiful journey.  Who are still following.  Though our hearts are heavy we all need to do our best to remember that this is not the end.  It’s only the beginning.

When Joey takes her last breath here… she will take her first breath there.

In Heaven.”

Last year, the couple chose to end treatments for Joey’s stage 4 cancer, for which she had undergone surgery, chemotherapy and radiation. Joey was moved to hospice care at the end of last year after doctors told her there was nothing more they could do for her.

The pair came to fame after appearing in 2008 on the CMT reality singing competition “Can You Duet.” They had a hit with their single “Cheater, Cheater” that same year. The couple also appeared in commercials for Overstock.com.
