Norfolk, Va. (WTKR)- The Deputy Secretary of Defense Bob Work and his Israeli counterpart, the Director-General of Israeli Ministry of Defense Dan Harel, toured the Norfolk-based guided-missile destroyer USS Stout on Tuesday.
In addition to the tour, they also spoke with Sailors and observed several demonstrations highlighting Ballistic Missile Defense technology.
"Israel is the absolute cornerstone of stability in the Middle East. They are a vibrant democracy and they are in a tough neighborhood without question and that’s why our commitment to them is unshakable," Secretary Work told NewsChannel 3's Todd Corillo aboard the USS Stout.
"It’s an ongoing, very fruitful, very developed relationships based on shared values and mutual interests," Harel added.
