Fire reported at Chesapeake senior citizen living community

Chesapeake, Va. – Firefighters worked a fire around 1:46 p.m. Tuesday at a one story apartment complex.

Officials say the complex was an elderly living community in the 700 block of Cozy Corner Drive.

Firefighters saw heavy smoke and flames coming from the building when they arrived. They called for second alarm to bring additional resources to the scene.

Four apartment units were damaged and at least two nearby buildings had melted siding.

The fire was under control at 2:41 p.m.

There were no reported injuries.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
