Newport News, Va. – Eight seized vehicles will be auctioned off by the Newport News Sheriff’s Office on Monday, March 14.
The vehicles were seized for non-payment of personal property taxes.
The Vehicle Seizure Program is run by the City Treasurer’s Office. License plate readers on several NNSO vehicles help them track down people who owe back taxes.
At the end of 2015, NNSO efforts had brought in more than $92,000 of the half-million dollars recovered through the program.
The vehicles will be available for viewing on Monday, March 14, at 9:30 a.m. The auction will begin promptly at 10 a.m. at the City Farm, 100 City Farm Road in Newport News.

2000 Silhouette Olds van
2001 Nissan Altima
