Newport News, Va. – A man was arrested in connection to the attempted robbery of the Bayport Credit Union.
On Tuesday at 11 a.m., police say Gregory James Bently went into the bank on 12512 Warwick Blvd., went up to a teller and told her he had a gun.
He left the bank empty handed and got away on a bicycle.
Bently was arrested at the corner of Culpepper Avenue and Warwick.
He was identified by a witness.
He has been charged with attempted robbery.
