Virginia Beach, Va. - On Thursday night, those for the light rail expansion and against it, came together for a debate.
Thalia Civic League hosted the debate. Virginia Beach City Treasurer John Atkinson spoke on behalf of those against light rail, while Bryan Plumlee, an attorney with the firm Poole Brooke Plumlee, spoke in favor of the light rail extension.
Both sides were given a chance for opening statements and then were asked questions by the moderator, David Schleck, editor of the Virginia Beach Beacon. The audience was able to submit questions.
The debate was spirited with many cheers and boo's from the audience at times.
