Couple displaced after flames destroy Virginia Beach home

Virginia Beach, Va. – A senior couple will have to find a new place to live after their home caught on fire in Virginia Beach on Tuesday.

The fire happened in the 4700 block of Honeygrove Road in the Aragona section of Virginia Beach.

When crews arrived, they found heavy smoke and flames coming from the garage and right side of the home.

The couple and their dog were able to get out safely.

One of them reported being awakened by the smoke alarm.

Crews were able to get the fire under control in just over 10 minutes.

The cause of the fire is under investigation and the Red Cross has been contacted to assist.
