Newport News, Va. - "Have sex with me and no one will have to die."

That's what a woman says a naked man said to her while she was on the Noland Trail near the Mariners' Museum in Newport News.

On March 25 around 8 p.m., police received a call about an incident at the Mariner's Museum Park.

The victim says she was walking on the path when she heard a strange noise in the brush. She called out and that's when she says 20-year-old John Kacy Burt approached her from the tree line.

"I said, 'No. Back up,'" the victim told NewsChannel 3. "He kept saying, 'Come here.'"

She says he laid down in the middle of the path near a bridge, and she said a quick prayer.

"I was basically calling on Jesus for help," the victim said. "He laid back down and said, 'Just go.'"

The victim then ran by him and was able to call for help.

Park security later found Burt near a bridge on the trail. They say he was only wearing a green shirt and white socks.

He was acting erratically and told authorities he had taken two hits of LSD.

Burt has been charged with possession of marijuana, profane swearing or intoxication in public, indecent exposure and conspiracy to violate the VA drug control act.

The victim hopes her story will be a lesson for others.

"It was a learning experience to be more on guard and alert."

Burt was released on $7,500 bond on March 26.
