Newport News, Va. – A group of people are gathering Friday to salute active duty service men and women, veterans, reservists and their families.

The Red Shirt Friday movement was created to show solidarity and support for members of the military. The group will be standing in the parking lot of Eva’s Hair Studio wearing red shirts and saluting servicemen and women as they drive home from work on Friday.

Those who would like to participate may meet in front of Eva’s Hair Studio on 15439 Warwick Boulevard at 4 p.m.
