Shed behind Chesapeake home destroyed by fire

Chesapeake, Va. – A shed behind a Chesapeake home was destroyed by a fire on Thursday afternoon.

According to the Chesapeake Fire Department, they received calls reporting the fire in the 300 block of Dexter Street at 12:36 p.m.

When firefighters arrived on scene at 12:43 p.m., they found heavy smoke and flames coming from the shed behind the home.

The fire did extend to the house but only caused minor damage to some of the vinyl siding on the home and another nearby shed.

The fire was under control at 12:48 p.m. No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
