Torrance, Calif. – Two universities from Hampton Roads are competing for America’s Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) National Quiz Championship.

The 2016 Honda Campus All-Star Challenge is a national competition that features the brightest students from Historically Black Colleges and Universities.

48 student teams qualified for this year’s National Championship Tournament, which runs from April 2 through April 5 in Torrance, California.

This year, 76 HBCUs competed in seven qualifying tournaments held in February.

Every team that participates in the Honda Campus All-Star Challenge will receive a $50,000 institutional grant from Honda.

The All-Star Challenge is one of Honda’s largest running philanthropic initiatives in the United States. The program has impacted the lives of over 100,000 HBCU students across 22 states.
