Hardworking troops will be in for a sweet treat!

On Saturday, April 9, the Girl Scouts got together at the Norfolk Scope to celebrate another successful year  of the Scout Cookie Program at their annual Cookies on Ice at the Admirals hockey game.

Before the game, the Girl Scouts formed an assembly line on the Scope Plaza to load 19,000 boxes of cookies into a truck for Soldiers’ Angels.

It is an organization that provides aid and comfort to men and women in the military and those in the veteran population.

After the donation, the top cookie selling troop conducted the pre-game flag ceremony. The top cookie seller, Ashleigh Peterson, participated in the ceremonial puck drop to start the game.

She sold more than 2,700 boxes of cookies this year.
