NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – A suspicious looking package was found at Newport News Shipbuilding.
Huntington Ingalls Industries tweeted that the package was found in Building 86 at 41st Street and Washington Avenue.
All employees evacuated the building and the Newport News Police Department and bomb squad are responding to the incident.
Building 86 was shut down while officials investigate the incident. It is now back open and employees should return to work as scheduled.
All other areas at the shipyard are open and have been deemed safe by security.
