New technology could help officers catch those texting behind the wheel.
The technology is a futuristic radar gun. It’s called the “Sniffer Sleuth” and can reportedly detect the frequency transmitted by a phone when a driver sends a text message, makes a call or send an email while driving.
A Virginia company called Comsonics is developing the new device.
Critics say the idea poses a lot of unanswered questions, such as how the device could tell the difference between driver texts and passenger texts.
