Suspect accused of shoplifting climbs tree to get away from police

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. – An accused shoplifter found himself in a tight spot on Monday.

According to WTVR.com, a man stole from a nearby Kohl’s department store and then climbed a tree in the Chester Cemetery.

Police are still working to get the man down from the tree.

They say the suspect threatened a loss prevention officer at the department store after he ran out of the West Hundred Road business.

It’s unclear if the man has a weapon.
