YORKTOWN, Va. – Preschoolers at The Goddard School in Yorktown, along with over 430 other Goddard School locations nationwide, kicked off their 6th annual Root for Earth campaign Monday.

Root for Earth is the school’s week-long celebration focusing on learning about the environment.

Students planted trees in the garden and learned how to protect the environment.

On Friday morning, Earth Day, every Goddard School across the country shut off non-essential lighting for an hour in a program they call, “Lights Out!”
