WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - Police are investigating a shooting incident that took place early Wednesday.

Police say they were called to a home in the 400 block of Page Street after reports of multiple shots being fired.

Officers discovered several rounds had hit a house. No one inside the house was injured.

The random gunfire has neighbors on a quiet street close by on edge. Many of them woke up to the unfamiliar noise of gunshots.

"It was pretty loud, I wasn't sure where they were coming from, just a rapid banging noise," says a William and Mary student that asked News 3 to keep him anonymous.

Witnesses told police that the shots were fired from a black SUV that drove off immediately after the shots were fired.

"It is scary, and I'm pretty sure that a lot of people are going to be a little nervous and anxious not knowing if it'll happen again," says Flor Garcia, a neighbor. "This is a very quiet neighborhood, you never hear that anything happens here, it's a nice, close-knit community."

Police tell News 3 they don't have a reason to believe the home was targeted.

News 3 knocked on the door of the home that neighbors say was hit by bullets, but no one would come to the door.

Neighbors say they have seen suspicious activity at the home before, such as cars frequently coming and going.
