Multiple citations doled out during license checkpoint in Camden County

CAMDEN COUNTY, N.C. – The Camden County Sheriff’s Office conducted a license checkpoint on Wednesday night from 9 p.m. – 12 a.m. that resulted in multiple citations.

The checkpoint was set up on the corner of Highway 158 and Country Club Road and included the use of the Breath Alcohol Testing Mobile Unit.

The charges are as follows:

4- Speeding

7- Expired Registration

5- Drivers charged with Driving with license revoked

7- Drivers charged with No Operators License

2- Child Restraint

6- Individuals were processed on active warrants ranging from felonies and failure to appear in court

1- Resist obstruct delay public officer

1- Fictitious info to officer

11- Total charges for control substance violations including marijuana, heroin, and drug paraphernalia

Agencies that assisted with the checkpoint included Pasquotank Sheriff’s Office, Elizabeth City PD, NC State Highway Patrol, Currituck Sheriff’s Office, Kill Devil Hills PD, Kitty Hawk PD, Nags Head PD, NC Park Service, and NC Probation.
