Tracking a little rain and a little sun for the Mother’s Day Weekend ….Our weather remains a bit unsettled, courtesy of an area of low pressure spinning over the Mid-Atlantic. This setup will keep scattered rain in the forecast as we move through our Friday evening and even some rain overnight. Otherwise, expect partly to mostly cloudy skies. Low temperatures will drop into the lower 50s. Minor tidal flooding is expected again around high tide. High tide at Sewells Point is at 9:50 p.m. tonight. We’ll likely see water levels rising about two hours before high tide, so plan accordingly. Turn around, don’t drown!

Low pressure will push farther away from the area on Saturday. Still, the flow around the low will keep our weather unsettled. We’ll see partly to mostly cloudy skies. A few scattered showers are also possible here and there, but the entire day will not be a washout. High temperatures will be in the upper 60s and lower 70s.  As the low pushes farther away, the threat for tidal flooding will diminish.

A cold front will move in late Saturday night into Sunday. The front won’t have a ton of moisture with it. However, a couple of isolated showers are possible on Mother’s Day. Otherwise, we’ll see a mixture of sun and clouds with highs in the upper 70s and lower 80s.

Then, next week, get ready for even warmer temps. We’ll see highs in the 80s with a chance of rain and thunderstorms.

Friday Night: Partly to Mostly Cloudy. Scattered Showers (30%). Low temperatures in the low 50s. Winds: W/SW 5-10 mph.

Saturday: Partly to Mostly Cloudy. Scattered Showers (30%). High temperatures in the upper 60s and lower 70s. Winds: SW/W 5-10 mph.

Mother’s Day: Partly Sunny. Slight Chance of Showers (20%). High temperatures in the upper 70s and lower 80s. Winds: Var. 5-10 mph.
