NORFOLK, Va. – With Hampton Roads being home of the Navy’s largest Naval base and so rich in Navy history, it’s only right to take a trip to the Hampton Roads Naval Museum.
It’s the only Naval Museum in the Commonwealth of Virginia and offers a fun and educational lesson on significant Navy history, from the first aviation flights, to the cannons that won historic wars.
“We’re owned and operated by the U.S. Navy. Throughout the year we have programs for families and for adults, again, that are all free of charge,” said Susanne Green with the Naval Museum.
Visiting the Naval Museum is completely free.
Neighboring the Naval Museum is Nauticus, which includes the Battleship Wisconsin. While they are on the same property, visiting Nauticus and the Wisconsin are not free.
