HAMPTON, Va. - The Virginia Peninsula Foodbank will hold its annual NALC 'Stamp Out Hunger' Food Drive on May 14, 2016. The food drive happens annually the second week of May. The goal of the food drive is to keep food pantry shelves stocked during the summer, a time when donations are traditionally low.
The event started 24 years ago and helps people, many of them children, who are food insecure.
People around Hampton Roads can participate by putting out non-perishable foods for their letter carrier to pick up during their regular work day. The letter carrier will then bring all of the collected food to the pantry.
