NORFOLK, Va. – TASTE announced Friday that they plan to open a new location in Ghent in March 2017.
The new location will be a 6,000-square foot space located at 409 W. 21st Street, replacing the current tenant Mattress Firm.
TASTE’s first Ghent location was opened in 1976 on Colley Avenue. They relocated the store to Hampton Boulevard in 2010.
“Our founder, Peter Coe, opened the second TASTE Unlimited on Colley Avenue in 1976, and for more than 30 years we were part of the fabric of Ghent. We are excited not only about returning to this vibrant community but also about being more accessible to our growing customer base downtown,” said Jon Pruden, President of TASTE.
The new Ghent location will be the eighth TASTE location. Exclusive to the Ghent location will be a Borjo DrinkBar, offering a wide variety of beverage options, including coffee, espresso, milkshakes & frappes, smoothies and juices, as well as beer and wine by the glass.
This follows TASTE’s acquisition of Norfolk’s Borjo Coffeehouse earlier this year.
